What should the economy look like in 2030? The key to a modern and competitive economy is a focus on innovation, technology and sustainability. Central to transforming the economy in this direction is the so-called dual transition, combining digital solutions with elements of green transformation. The reliance on innovative technologies and targeted support for the decarbonisation of the economy will boost the competitiveness of the Czech economy on global markets and contribute to increasing the added value of its products and services. Support for the circular economy, strategic investment in education and retraining of workers, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises, whose development can be promoted by removing administrative and financial barriers, also play a significant role. Equally important is stronger support for research and innovation projects.
Fulfilling this vision and moving the Czech economy up the international economic ladder is an ambitious challenge, especially after the impact of the energy crisis caused by the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine. This must be supported by a functional and resilient infrastructure that is modernised and prepared for new geopolitical and climate threats. The transformation will also need to be accompanied by structural reforms in the areas of economic institutions, science and research, resource management and public finance.
